Alzixa® (memantine hydrochloride) is used to treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer’s Disease. It belongs to the group of NMDA receptor antagonists. By binding to NMDA receptors, the drug prevents their activation and overstimulation of glutamate and prevents damage to those receptors.
